ITS has launched a revamped version of the university’s mobile application myUConn.
First available to our community in 2012, myUConn was developed in-house to provide access to key university information and applications. As mobile technologies improved, ITS progressively added capabilities to the app, but we also continuously surveyed the industry landscape to assess technology alternatives as they were introduced. Prior to the beginning of the summer, we determined that we could better support and evolve our service offering by transitioning from the original framework to a hosted vendor product.
The new myUConn app, powered by Kurogo, focuses on enhancing the mobile experience. The most popular aspects of the original app have been either carried forward directly or are scheduled for implementation as we proceed. This iteration of the app includes a new maintenance module that enables the community to notify University Facilities of maintenance and repair issues in dorms and around campus. The app works on any size Android and iOS device and can be downloaded from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Current myUConn HD iPad/Android tablet users are encouraged to remove their existing app and download this release of myUConn.
