Advance information about a new tool for updating display names in UConn directories is now available.The University issues an email address and display name for new faculty, staff, and students based upon their legal name.  The ITS Personal Names website has historically offered functional, but limited, mechanisms for modifying these names and for selecting aliases.  Our community has expressed interest in greater flexibility with naming choices.  In collaboration with the Rainbow Center, ITS has created a new tool that enables our community to not only choose the format for their display name but to also enter first, middle, and last names that differ from their legal names.  The new Display Name tool will be available on Monday, October 22.  We have also made improvements to facilitate the use of display name in other applications.  Documentation for integration support is available at iam.uconn.edu/integrating-an-application-with-display-name.
