Aurora is a multisite WordPress Service that enables customers to publish websites that meet institutional brand and accessibility standards, have a mobile responsive design, and remain current with security updates. In Aurora, site owners could set permissions on pages to restrict access, but these settings did not extend to resources (e.g., images and PDFs) that were added to the page.  The public could still access these files from the media library, and they could appear in the results of search engines.  We strive to effectively operate and continuously improve our service, and in response to community feedback, ITS has implemented an option for all uploaded media that allows you to mark files as private and control who may view the content.  This will give site owners the ability to manage the relationship between pages and other resources with finer granularity.  More information about this plugin is available at aurora.uconn.edu/2019/07/31/private-uploads.
