Webex Events at UConn allows you or a panel to host online events and webinars for up to 1,000 participants and stream for up to 40,000 attendees. It incorporates audience management features like at a large in-person event.  Unlike a normal meeting, audience members cannot enable their microphones and video as these controls are managed by the host.  Participants need to use the Raise Hand button and be called upon or ask questions through the chat.  This eliminates image churn and the associated, unworkable dynamic where participants step on each other as they attempt to offer questions or input.  Webex Events is available to anyone with a UConn NetID through their Webex accounts, and we encourage you to consider this event capability in situations where it would be helpful.  The Technology Support Center staff can provide assistance with this service, and self-help documentation is always available by searching “Webex Events” at kb.uconn.edu.
