The University’s Office of Student Financial Aid Services produces numerous reports that are required to comply with federal and state statutes. These reports have often been supported by customizing our Peoplesoft Student Administration (SA) system. SA is a transactional system of record and is specifically designed to robustly manage the details of onboarding students and preserving their academic history. The increased complexity and technical burden that customizations introduce generate additional operating costs and impede the primary purpose of SA. ITS, in partnership with Financial Aid, has created the Financial Aid Data Mart (FADM). A data mart is architected to produce reports and incorporates tools specifically designed for this purpose. The new FADM will enable Financial Aid to efficiently create reports and will give them the flexibility to more easily meet evolving compliance obligations.
