HuskyCT, our learning management system, is now in a High Availability (HA) configuration.
It is an industry best practice for key IT services to be delivered from multiple locations. Constructing systems with operational diversity is part of an HA architecture that provides redundancy and enhances robustness. In line with our strategic plan, ITS has made data center and network improvements to enable HA capabilities from our secondary data site in HBL, and we have deployed a second instance of HuskyCT at this alternate location. If an outage occurs at the MSB data center, ITS can now quickly restore this vital teaching and learning service. Systems, services, and capabilities that align with institutional academic needs outlined in the UConn Academic Vision are a priority for ITS, and we will continue to pursue HA and other operational strategies to improve their stability and performance.
