University has approved and published the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Accessibility policy.
The University of Connecticut is committed to achieving equal opportunity to its educational and administrative services, programs, and activities in accordance with federal and state law. ITS, Center for Students with Disabilities, Office for Institutional Equity, Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning, Procurement Services, Interpreting Services, and University Communications collaborated to write the ICT Accessibility policy. This successor policy formalizes the institutional obligation to providing accessible information, communication, content, and technology experiences for people with disabilities. It applies to the procurement, development, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of the University’s information and communication technologies (ICT) at Storrs and regional campuses. This policy went into effect on the date it was approved, July 24, and was published today at policy.uconn.edu. Procedures accompany the policy to facilitate adoption.
