ITS is migrating networks and applications hosted in the UConn data center to a new firewall.
The data center houses servers and applications for ITS as well as other university customers. The network firewall protecting and monitoring traffic for these services will be end-of-life in September. We are replacing it, and this requires parties to migrate servers and applications from the old firewall to the new one. We are also using this opportunity to improve our overall security posture by reviewing and adjusting firewall rules. ITS has been meeting with data center customers to share additional details about the process, engage in an assessment of applicable firewall rules, and schedule tentative migration dates.
