Microsoft is rebranding Lync Online, their enterprise communication tool, as Skype for Business.

For customers running Microsoft Windows with Microsoft Office 2013, the change is included in their scheduled updates for April. After the update, customers will see changes to the appearance of the interface and have access to new features. Their contact lists will migrate with the update.

For our Managed Workstation Business-to-Customer clients, ITS will deploy the update as part of our regular patch cycle, and it will install automatically the morning of Wednesday, April 22nd. Skype for Business is forthcoming for Macs but not yet released.
