Written messages are a formal part of interaction for IT professionals at UConn and elsewhere. They inform our audience about projects, decisions, services, and incidents. When done well, a message achieves specific ends and contributes to operating transparency. ITS fully supports the development of IT professionals at the university and in pursuit of this, a new document, “Elements of Effective Written Messages,” has been added to existing communication centric papers under Communication Resources at the following location: https://cio.uconn.edu/#communications. When IT professionals consider all aspects of effective communication and consistently apply the best practical choices, they not only meet expectations for professional writing but also produce a familiar rhythm that resonates with our university community.
We are happy to share our perspective on professional communication with you and hope that you find this information useful.
